Summer Beginner Reading Class for Adults
July 20 – August 17, Wednesdays, 5:45-7:15 pm – 5 classes, 90 min. ea.
(Level: A1.3+, Students who completed at least ½ of A1 Textbook or materials)

(To be offered as in-person, remote, or hybrid – depending on needs of participants and COVID-19 restrictions at that time, if any.)
Cost: $75, plus book (approx. $12-15 – to be purchased from the school)
Solve a mystery, learn about Hamburg, and improve your German this summer! This summer we are offering for our beginning students the opportunity to read the book: Gefährliche Spaziergänge – spannender Lernkrimi (Dangerous outings – an exciting crime story, written for adult language learners). Purchase of book includes free MP3 download, with audiobook, along with exercises designed to build your reading and listening skills. Meet widow Sophie von Breymann of Hamburg and her family, friends and neighbors, and solve the crime! That’s all for now… no spoilers allowed!
Thursday Summer Reading – Third Year German (level A1/A2)
Meetings: Thu, 12:45- 2:15pm; June 30, July 14 & 28, August 11 & 25;

Materials: Leo & Co., Die Neue: A new employee brings some major changes to Leo’s personal life. Book can be purchased from the school, class meeting in person & on Zoom, as necessary.

Wednesday Summer Reading – Third Year German (level A2)
Meetings: Wed., 7 to 8:30; June 29, July 13 &27, August 10 & 24
Teacher: Annette Youngberg
Materials: Unter Fischen, Fenders Vierte Fall: In detective Fender’s fourth case, he travels to Kiel to determine if an accident in a fish processing plant is really an accident. We will learn a bit about both Kiel and modal particles in this session. (Book can be purchased from the school, class meeting in person & on Zoom, as necessary.)
